The Role

Delivery of a schools-based active travel project across Portsmouth, working with schools, Portsmouth City Council and community partners. The role runs as a fixed-term contract until December 2028 and is community-facing, with regular travel to schools across the area.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver activities that build knowledge, skills and confidence in active travel
  • Build relationships with Active Travel Champions in schools and the local authority
  • Collect impact information and success stories from the project
  • Maintain project records and monitor performance data
  • Recruit and support volunteers where needed

What you'll need

  • Understanding of active travel and the barriers faced by communities experiencing inequality
  • Project management or delivery experience
  • Workshop facilitation and presentation skills across different formats
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and a commitment to child and adult safeguarding
