Wheelbase Lakeland is looking for an Assistant PAC Merchandiser and Buyer to join its head office team in the Lake District.
This role sits within the buying and merchandising function, supporting the planning, selection, and performance of Parts, Accessories and Clothing (PAC) across Wheelbase’s retail and eCommerce operations. It’s a commercially focused role, well suited to someone with strong analytical skills and an interest in the cycling industry.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting product selection, replenishment, and range planning for PAC
- Maintaining range plan data, including margins and forward-order contracts
- Analysing weekly sales, stock levels, and product performance
- Monitoring bestsellers and managing slow-moving stock and markdowns
- Creating and managing purchase orders and supplier intake schedules
- Managing back orders and cancellations where required
- Supporting promotional activity with marketing and eCommerce teams
- Working with finance to forecast sales, margins, and stock levels
- Monitoring competitor activity and wider market trends
- Communicating range plans clearly across retail, stock, and eCommerce teams
What they’re looking for
- Experience in merchandising, retail, or business management (helpful but not essential)
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, including good Excel capability
- Well organised, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and meet deadlines
- Confident communicator, able to work collaboratively across teams
- An interest in, or passion for, the cycling industry
Location & working pattern
- Office-based at Wheelbase’s Lake District HQ (Staveley)
- Hybrid working available on request
- Monday–Friday, 9.00am–5.30pm
- Some travel to stores, suppliers, and trade fairs
Salary
- Competitive salary from £28,000, depending on experience
